Felt Making Projects

Felt purse and slippers I made on a weekend course at Denmark Farm with Lorraine Pocklington.  A great fun weekend.  Never thought I could felt and make slippers in one day!  The slippers are actually green!  Exterior is made with Shetland wool and the inside with Wensleydale.  I'm now inspired to do a C&G course in felt-making

Wedding Fascinator

Fascinator I made for myself to wear at Sarah's wedding on October 27th.  Actual colours are a bit brighter.

RSN Certificate in Technical Hand Embroidery

I was presented with this certificate by Dr Susan Kay-Williams, Chief Executive of the RSN, at a ceremony held at Tracy Franklin's studio in Durham in October.  I am really pleased with my achievement

Silk Shading project for the RSN Certificate

My fourth and last technique for the RSN Certificate in Hand Embroidery.  This really was 'touch and go' to finish and we stayed on an extra day in our self-catering cottage, so that I could mount it!  Again completed on a 2 week intensive session with Tracy Franklin in Durham.

Goldwork project for the RSN Certificate

This was my goldwork project for the RSN Certificate in hand embroidery, completed over a 2 week intensive session, again with Tracy Franklin in Durham, in 2011.  A celtic letter 'G'.

Canvas Work Project for the Royal School of Needlwork Certificate

This was my second technique - Canvas Work - for the Royal School of Needlework Certificate in Hand Embroidery.  Completed in 2010 on a 2 week intensive session with Tracy Franklin in Durham.  It was touch & go finishing this in the time and was sewing on the backing on the Saturday morning.
The subject is a celtic cross on the Isle of Mull, Scotland.
